Idk.. Im more of a submission pants guy. Just because I feel that the grip is about equal to gi pants.. and since they arent loose, you dont ever really have to worry about getting fingers/toes wrapped up in them. So it just decreases chance of an injury. The only problem is the lack of dignity required to wear said pants.. buutt.. luckily i lost that awhile ago, so they work perfect for me.

From my experience I find the cotton gi pant on someone makes it easier for me to maintain control of their legs. Straight ankles go on easier but that's about it. The tights are like a second skin, cant get the same control on them.

Yeah we were in a NAGA this weekend and the other competitor was grabbing the gi pants. Refere said Its legal u can't grab shorts or tights though.
