I dont remember my first sub, but I remember how awesome it was when I caught a blue belt in a twister. It's happening more and more now also.

I honestly have no idea what my first sub was. Probably a guillotine but maybe an Americana .. Either way, congrats on your first sub. Like the others have said, stay humble, thank your instructor, get better. There is somebody waiting to kick your ass right now.

It's such an addicting feeling! Congrats on your first sub. Now you're hooked ya crackhead!

My first ever was a Peruvian necktie but I don't exactly count that. I was on active duty at Moody AFB and I was in the gym smacking the heavy bag. Dude started chatting me up and asked if I trained at all. I said yeah, but only for like two months. He said he'd been training for years and asked if I wanted to roll. I said sure why not. He shot for what I now recognize as a laughable double leg and BOOM it was right there. Caught him in it again a few minutes later. I decided he was full of more shit than a manure cart and quit rolling with anyone outside of a legit gym.

My first real submission at Roch was Invisible Collar. It's been my absolute favorite ever since and I work on it regularly.

Awesome Ryan. Good job! Many more to come I'm sure. My first was an armbar. I didn't know I hurt him either because I didn't know what to expect. Hyperextended my buddies arm. It takes doing that to actually learn not to pull moves to the extreme.

That high that you felt, you know that feeling of dominance? ... You're gonna get that same feeling when you first render a guy unconscious. Just remember you're gonna get humbled too so be ready to tap and live to roll another day.
