Do you roll with partners of all shapes and sizes?

As an instructor, I feel it's my duty as instructor to roll with every student regardless of skill, size, or strength. I've found myself at time rolling with guys that are pushing 260 - 280. I've heard of individuals and instructors a like not wanting to roll with individuals much larger than them. I like competing in open weight classes and I find that it helps my game a lot. It opens my eyes to different sized games. It forces me to develop certain aspects of my game that I wouldn't normally work on. I find it better for me and for my students. What's your take?

I walk at around 170. I've competed against guys like Bruno Bastos and Rodrigo Cavaca. These are big boys! They are in the heaviest weight class you can be in.

I'm not a small guy (6 2", 195) but when I go with a dude 250+ all I'm thinking about is not getting hurt.

I used to roll against anybody without hesitation. But holding rubber guard on 200+ guys (I'm 155) as they stacked me has wrecked my lower back. Now I have to be more careful. I have to pace myself and space out when I allow myself to roll against heavyweights so I have ample time to heal between open weight sessions.

I roll with my big dudes a good bit. I'm only 160lbs and have guys pushing 260lbs. I usually limit just 1 maybe 2 rolls with them when there that big. Otherwise there will be no more Jon.

I roll with everyone. But I'm always a bit nervous with the heavyweights. I worry about them rolling on my bad knee.
