    Agreed. I like watching similar attacks because you can see the core mechanics and how you compensate with control in an ad hoc scenario. So like in this example, if you go for the mechanic but the dude slips the lockdown, forcing you to recapture him in quarter guard or standard half, then you just have to deep hook his leg with your other arm to directly manipulate his hips. Great stuff.

    This is generally the only pass that defeats my half guard attempts. They always get the tight underhook as well and smash my face with their shoulder. If they don't get the under hook it's much easier to fight that pass by pushing their knee upwards (and you can even go to deep half at that point)

    There reason I dig that arm roll set up is becasue its the same way I used to set up the seat belt grip in Judo & Sambo, and it just came natural to use it on the mat as well.

    I'd really like to see this added to the MTS series from quarter guard/knee through to floor vs. your opponent's under hook!

    How far into the pass can the person on top get before you can't counter?
