I apologize for putting Renato on the air on JRE yesterday, I genuinely thought yalls would wanna hear what he had to say to Joe. Joe asked me to bring him on the show initially but Renato couldn't make it so Joe and I both agreed that Renato calling in would best anyways. Turns out Joe wasn't feeling it afterall, I didn't know, he said he was into it at first but he changed his mind without telling me, again I apologize for throwing the show off

back to renato...i love what he represents, ignorant jiu jitsu. his arguements are the same as what the traditional bjj guys say all the time. as long as the "real bjj" guys are hating on 10pjj, renato will have plenty to say to all you stoned rubber-band guard fighters

I think what stood out to me is the level of objection show by Renato to weed, it's been a while since I have spoken to anyone who still believes so strongly that weed in principle is evil and will cause children to die. The arguments and reasoning he used are just so typically mainstream, this is stuff the politicians and clergy have been touting as gospel for years, so much so that they’ve indoctrinated people into believing it. I am by no means an expert, but quoting something as true because the government said so is probably not the smartest way to make convince someone of your point.

I would not say ignorant, I would say a Zealotical. With a Religiosity to traditional BJJ. The irony is, the BJJ disciples were telling the traditional JJ follwers that there is a another path. Fast forward to today and the BJJ teachers and followers have become the priest and gate keepers all over again.

The 10th Planet system will have to make way one day, to some other system. Most people here will be the Priest and Fanatics then defending 10th Planet. Yes of course you will after spending half your life doing something. Everything has its time and its surpassed.

Agree here too on everything being surpassed. I just hope that we can break the mold and never become the "Priests and Fanatics" of the past that look down on experimentation and progress in the name of the art. 10P eventually WILL become the status quo, not because we say so, but simply because it delivers what it was meant to deliver, which is effective jiu jitsu for MMA. Eventually the MMA world, traditional bjj world, and even the non-practitioners who are simply a fan of combat sports will all realize it and accept it for what it is, nogi jiu jitsu for MMA. I just hope that somehow we can make sure to embed all of our 10th Planet students to be open minded to the next evolution of nogi jiu jitsu, whether it's from a 10th Planet mind or from a different grappling school of thought entirely.
