First Day Back At Judo! It Was Awesome!

    and i violated bitches
my college has restarted doing free judo lessons once a week, ive been to about 2 sessions in total last year and thats it. i had just as much Judo experience as the other 3 guys who were there but as soon as the instructor said we were "gonna work on some groundwork today" i jizzed a little, but let nothing on haha. the instructor did recognise my 10th Planet hoody (first person whos ever recognised it) and made a little joke about gi allergies which was awkward as only me and him understood it lol.

first time in a gi was wierd, it made a lot of things easier, but kept getting in the way of my underhooks and stuff which wasnt fun. i just kept but-scooting and giving them full or half guard which was exactly were i wanted to be. 3 people gave me their backs super quickly with no effort from me, i choked 2 of them super super super light for the tap and the other tapped as soon as i put my anaconda on which upset me a little (i like choking) i got a slick armbar from half guard which made the instructor give me a ton of praise (i ate that shit up)

i was heavier than them because im such a fatty, but i spent the whole time on my back being lazy. i gassed out by like the 4th roll out of about 10 cos i havent been to training in months just 2 or so workout sessions and yoga every week, i still kept winning even when i stopped using my arms. i know im not exactly challenging myself by going against guys with very little ground experience, but when i think about it i probably only have about 20 hours total martial arts so far lol so its not really a big gap. i love being able to pick up techniques really quickly though and even though i didnt use any rubber guard the whole time i was on my back i plan on giving it a go for gi too.

sorry for writing quite a bit, just really happy with how i did, which is rare, and im really looking forward to taking a ton more lessons.

    p.s. gi burns suck -_-

Did they ask if you trained ground work after the rolling session?

yeah the guys kept asking if i trained Judo afterwards i was like, no not really, just some jiu jitsu.
after mostly training at an mma club where 80% of the guys are strong grown men who are very serious about their game etc, its a big relief to train with people who arent really intense about it
the instructor was already talking to me about grading, which must be a good sign too lol

We all learn by getting schooled on the mats by ninjas - an endless parade of ego crushing taps. It's frustrating yet enlightening & totally necessary.

That being said, it is FAR more fun to BE the ninja that is tapping fools left & right. I know that shit feels good, nice work

    Way to rep the system!
