I just wanted to give an update and a BIG thank you to everybody who has so kindly helped me and my family out. I am so lucky to be apart of such an awesome community and I wouldn't want to be apart of any other jiu jitsu family. It amazes me that all these people have pitched in so much. It can be an uncomfortable feeling getting all this help and feeling all this love, but I'm taking day by day and doing my best to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. It's all about paying it forward. I'm gonna get through this and when the next member of our family needs some help I want to be the first to do what I can to help out. I wanted to share some other awesome things that some others have done for me lately and also give a update on the little guy.
A bunch of the local jiu jitsu instructors have gotten together and are putting on a benefit seminar for me with all proceeds going to my sons surgery. I am very grateful to be part of a awesome jiu jitsu community that respects 10th Planet enough to do such a thing. This seminar will include multiple black and brown belts from all different affiliations including: Gracie Barra, Gordo, Mario Aiello, Pedro Sauer and others. Very cool!
Imperial Fighting has a big night of fights coming up on November 5th. They have offered to do a fundraiser of their own that same night and will match up to $1500 of what is raised. You can check them out at www.ImperialFighting.com
As many of you know I train BJJ with Jeremy "the Gerbil" Arel. Together we have worked out a deal were 10th Planet Charlotte will be moving into his school, Great Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This means a larger and nicer facility with more mat space. We will be adding 10th Planet classes to his schedule in the new few weeks. Jeremy has only been open for 6 months and is currently pushing 100 students. That means I'm going from my current 20 to almost 100 students repping out 10th Planet moves. I couldn't be happier about this move as it is great for 10th Planet JJ in North Carolina. Not to mention we have a in house legit black belt that is open minded enough to allow such a thing to happen. You can check out Jeremy's school at www.GreatGrappling.com
The little man has a heart catheterization procedure coming up on the 27th. His next surgery will most likely be a week or two after that. He will still need another surgery around the age or 3 or 4. A ton of you guys are friends with me on facebook and have been keeping up with me and always show awesome support. I really do appreciate it and thank you again for everybody coming together and pitching in for my son and to keep 10th Planet Charlotte afloat.
