I hope nobody at my gym learns them. After seeing that episode I think I have to upgrade my baby wipe into taking the back since I'm already encountaring basic hip counters to my current under pass. I know how to force my underpass but I usually come out into a low side mount that is a hassle to grind out of.

I enjoy back control, so I should just dump them over their head and hop on.

Awesome episode Jake! Very in depth interview! I still disagree with his gi vs. nogi opinion! With him saying the nogi guy's just slips out because it gets slippery but the gi guy has to use technique to get out. I'm sorry but nogi instructors do teach proper techniques to escape!!!

    Glad you guys enjoyed it.
The gi vs nogi debate will never die

As for Roger's name, AFIK he prefers the non-Brazilian pronunciation.
His name is the only Brazilian R name that I pronounce as an R sound instead of H.
    Go figure.

Filming an episode next week with a big guy.
Sparring is not going to be fun...

Awesome episode. The insight into his philosophy of training and his beginning was great. I love hearing how all of these guys keep their ego in check. The episode before with Romulo was equally inspiring. Great work Jake. As always great techniques. Blew my mind up.
