The thread is about a video 2 students rolling. The video as well as the comments in the thread are pretty funny:

    It's interesting.

I have mixed feelings. On one end of the spectrum, the mats never lie. His objective skill level is just his objective skill level and all the criticism he receives, regardless of how cruel, is real. I don't feel guilty for laughing.

At the same time though, who am I to say what jiujitsu is to him? Jiujitsu is really what you make of it and it has clearly changed this man's life for the best. Ironically, despite the criticism and ridicule jiujitsu truly benefits people, like the guy in the video, the most. It was really made for normal people to change their lives not for sport and not for MMA macho posturing or even the goofy inverted rolling heel hooks that I keep trying during live sparring. I'd imagine that people laugh at me when I blow a flying heel hook.... hmm....

If Rener belts him it's legit. That being said, I'm watching more videos for a laugh.

No dude this guy tested in person with Rener. Watch the second video on this thread that's what makes it even more confusing.

All Belts and grading is subjective to each system and school. The persons own innate ability, strength changes the landscape too much for belts to be a Universal standard. If this guy is happy with his online tutorials more power to him for trying. Phone sex is still sex, naaa not really... But he will get off on it for a while. Until he realizes he's been taken for a ride.
Well dont say getting a blue isnt a great feat cuz it was one of the most intense things ive ever done....

Every belt an achievement, make no mistake about that. For me, a belt is kind of like a degree in higher education. You earned it, and no one can take it away.

Funny videos. I actually started to relate with the dude. He has that same passion that we have. Awesome!! I'm actually gonna give him real critique on youtube because there were some major holes in his game.
