Exactly right. Especially about the whole Marcelo thing. Jiu jitsu teaches you in very short order that a little dude who really knows what he is doing has nothing to fear from a giant douchebag. Getting your ass kicked on a very regular basis is a good way to develop humility. Anyone who's ever been choked out has a perspective on the world most people don't ever get. You fought to the death and LOST. That you're still alive is by virtue of the fact we agree on the rules and have elected not to kill each other. But that's what's happening. Damn I love jiu jitsu!

I wish Rogain would run for office. I would pay to see him on a prime time national debate with a bunch of lying scum. I honestly believe he would have a real chance. I think the country is ready for someone like him. Politically he is in line with Ron Paul and Ron wins most straw polls, but has no real chance because he just looks and acts like a pussy. Rogan is young, good looking, charismatic, and persuasive. He might have to not practice his inside voice, but other than that I think this is a real idea that should be explored.

Joe isn't correct here. You get all kinds of people. Against a guy/girl that wants to claw your eyes out, everything changes! same deal with knifes. You can have all your wrist tendons cut before you realize you can't operate any digits. That is a lot of surgery and rehab. Hell you can be disemboweled with a single stroke of an Olfa blade. And yes a gun ends it all sooner than that. Just two decent alert guys can mess up any black belt.

I hate to admit this.. but ishtars got a point here. Nowadays it doesn't matter how good you are. The streets is a whole different ball game. You got to worry about multiple attackers, weapons etc. I'd rather avoid a confrontation all together. Plus even if you happen to win you still got the law to deal with.
