I know how that feels. That was me last year. I told myself that i would do better this year. Hopefully next year I'll get to taste gold.

Super pissed that I didn't even go to at the very least to support my friends and team! Not training, BILLS, and trying to get over bronchitis are the main reasons why I didn't go. Congrats to Braddah Jermz on kicking ass and improving since his last NAGA tourney. Guarantee I will see you at the next NAGA and every tournament that hits Oahu!

Lost first match. We sit down right when the match starts. He attacks an ankle lock but my ankle is too flexible, so I took my time and got a tight toe hold and rolled his foot all the way back. I stopped to check if he was okay and he says, keep going. We restart, he attempts to pass my guard, I attempt to sweep and we neutralize each other, so he attacks a straight ankle again but this time crosses his foot over and gives me a heel hook. I take my time again as he wrenches on my ankle his hardest and I hear his knee make a noise, so I let go immediately and stopped to check if he was okay again. He was fine and I was glad I didn't break his knee. We restart again and this time he gets pass my hooks but I'm still defending the pass with my knees in front of him and my hands and as I regain my guard, the ref gives him points for the pass. It happens twice. 25 seconds left, I have to do something because my normal stuff isn't working, so I attempt an inverted half guard sweep but he counters and get's a nice pass on me. My opponent then went on to win his next 2 matches to win the championship belt. Props to him for attacking me the whole time and not playing safe and especially winning with a broken foot. He came over to me after and thanked me for letting the heel hook go, so I didn't feel bad about it. All things considered, I was happy with my performance. It was my second tournament ever and I entered expert and felt like I belonged there, even with just under 2 years of training under my belt.

Nice play by play Justin! Thanks! You guys are doing your thing over there. Keep it up bro.
We all go through the same thing in tourney: do I snap it because he's not tapping? That could end his career right? Would they do the same to me? Bodycomb had alternatives to breaking their limbs that's a happy medium. See the DVD 1 of Bodycomb if you get a chance.
Sometimes you feel as if you have to tell the ref to stop the match because it's obvious you'll get the sub and the ref should know that person is in serious danger. I dunno should you break it? I know a few that got their limbs broken and I'm betting the other person didn't intend to do it but there comes a point where each has to make a decision to live another day.

You guys did awesome! Way to rep in paradise!!
