I would focus on a set of something and just drill untill its complete muscle memory. You will always need a go to, so drill something that can be a go to, and base this on your size and athletic ability ect. For example I worked on flexiblity and obsessed about guard, so i drilled guard over, and over, and over. Now if I am in absolute deep water, full guard will be a comfort zone. since you dont have a school just drill something like 3 weeks strait, and eventually you will find different ways to come about that in live roll. For me you cant live roll enough, but it doesn't substitute drill.
