Had A Herbst Device Installed Yesterday.............. This Sucks !!!!!!!

Ok for you guys that may have had one, you know how bad this blows !!!!! Its a thing that goes in your mouth with pistons and bolts to change the shape of your lower jaw. I've had braces for almost a year on the top and my teeth are perfect. My bottom teeth wouldn't move, so they have to use this thing to fix them.

I begged my dad to have them take it back out. Can't talk right, can't eat, kills my jaw. Has 2 huge bolts that grind into the inside of my mouth. Not sure how i'm going to be able to fight. Bumming Big Time !!!!!

Anyone ever had to deal with this and roll????? Could you???? Has to be in for 6-8 months. My dad custom made me a mouthguard so I can play my last football game tonight. I feel a little better because it will work good enough for that......but no way for jiu jitsu. Not sure what I'm going to do. I guess worse thing is that the inside of my mouth gets tore to shit when I compete. I'm not hanging it up for 9 months !!!!!

dude, 9 months isnt a long time. most people don't start taking martial arts seriously until they are in their 20s, you have time. Get the braces done right. Then you will be able to fornicate with women and obtain currency and trim your bread with an electric shaver like a real man with an awesome looking jawline.

Bruce lee got put out for a little longer than this. So instead he exercised his mind instead. Catch up on some reading. Get some bjj NHB and bruce lee books and some philosophy

It only hurts alot for the first week or some... after that your teeth don't shift enough for it to kill your jaw. Unless its one of those where you have to wind it for it to continuously expand. But you should stop feeling it after a week... kinda like the first time they tighten your braces, hurts like hell but then it stops.

Think of it as, after that, all the girls will be digging your nice ass smile
