I like Diaz, he is himself. I think the whole demeanor has to do with his fight mentality. One could wish he behaved better as a front figure of MMA, but regardless; I like him!

I think GSP will have no problem at all taking Diaz down, but Diaz ground game is very dangerous. (I don't know the guy, but I've watched almost all his fights)

And I think he'll play with GSP standing up. GSP's best bet is strategy and transitioning, and GnP.

No idea who will win though.. I see it as pretty even.

I'm not seeing Diaz being able to handle GSP. Penn got banged up but he was still throwing and landing on Diaz right up to the last bell. Better not try thay with GSP, his punch's heavier and because of height difference come at more dangerous angle.

And guys mentioned it, the scrabble with Diaz and Penn was awesome...... Wish they had more of it, but Diaz was way more comfortable with Penn standing up. On the ground Penn and Diaz looked egually dangerous. Remember Penn and GSP. He completely nuetralized Penns awesome Jitz. No reason to think he can't do the same with Diaz.

Whoa wait..How is the height going to create more dangerous angles for GSP? Im gonna have to disagree that GSP's punch is heavier than Penn's. Ask Hughes how hard Penn hits. He thought he got hit with a kick. And like I was trying to get at before Gsp did neutralize Penn's ground game BUT Penn doesnt attack off his back. He looks for the sweep or tries to get up. Diaz attacks like a maniac off his back. Gsp will get the takedown but Diaz is going to make him pay. Im calling upset on this one. Diaz is getting that sub.

Always way more dangerous to have punch come straight on or worse yet come at you from a downward angel. Thats why it sucks to box someone taller than you. Its not always about reach, sometimes it's about height. I trained heavy in boxing when I was 9 and 10. Regional silver gloves champion for 2 years. I had 23 fights, didn't happen often, but always sucked to fight someone taller. Penn punched up at Diaz all night easier to defend. Hughes and Penn same height..... not any harder then what he caught Diaz with, just from better angel. Looking down always better to see punch's. Straight on and from above, trickier.....harder to see start missing them. And its the one you don't see that puts you away.

As far as it going to the ground, I still say GSP ties it up lays on him and makes it boring as hell... but wins the rounds. I see it like a 12 round boxing match with one guy clinching the whole fight, tieing a fighter up and throwing silly little rabbit punch's that do no damage, but score points. Yup, translate that to the ground and thats what we will see. We will just have to wait and see who's right.

G.S.P can not handle Nick standing, Period. As far as all this height difference being an advantage non sense gsp (5'10") is one inch taller than bj (5'9") and Nick is still taller (6'1") How did gsp's height advantage work out striking against Matt Serra? Your talking theory. Reality is Nick is a better striker than Gsp and bj was not as effective off his back as Nick will be because he gasses out easily and Nick will force Gsp to work way harder from the top and wont get tired.

Sorry, Connor your biased feelings about his personality are getting in the way of your judgement.

Whew I thought I was the only one thinking about this logically. I'm just going to throw out the height aspect and ask did you see Penn's face after he fought diaz? Yes gsp beat Penn's ass too but the only mark he left was a baby cut under his eye. Diaz made penn's face look like he was worked over with a baseball bat (over dramatic comparison I know.)

It is not the same comparison. The fear of gsp's takedown opens up his striking and vicesersa. Cant wait to see how Diaz deals with it. Im seeing gogo attemts on the ground, rolling kimura sweeps from clench, and who knows how hes gonna be able to work his stand up cause gsp will avoid trading.

No feelings getting in the way. Not a huge GSP fan either.lol. If Nick has to much PERSONALITY, GSP doesn't have enough.lol.

As far as my punching theory....its not mine. It was my trainers. He faught for the middleweight championship 3 seperate times and has trained 4 seperate world champions over the zillon years he has been around boxing. He knows how to teach boxing angels for sure.

Doesn't mean a shorter fighter will never win a fight, just has to work harder sometimes. Example Sierra, But I remember hearing that GSP partyed for a week straight and had 2 chicks in his room right up to just before his fight started. Not thinking he took that fight to seriously.

I just don't see that Stockton slap working against a fighter of similer size that knows how to work angels. If I am wrong, I will be the first to get on here after and say I'm full of crap....lol.

Also I have met Sierra also. Him and Penn might be 5'9 standing on there tippy toes.
