Thats not the fight that will put Diaz into retirement/coma...... that will be down the road by a fighter yet to be seen. Maybe 7-8 years from now by.............me !!!!
Most likely outcome for sure...And plus the big hyped up fights always seem to under-perform..

If a tiny ww in Penn could take Diaz down in pretty much the only shot he took...no way does is diaz stopping stopping Gsp's tds..Gsp by decision as usual.

Bj was the first fighter I was actually a huge fan of and helped lead me to start the sport. But after I became a student of mma I have never been a bigger fan of anyone as I am of Nick Diaz.

Great point. People do presume things about him because his mannerisms (and maybe even ethnicity, but lets not go there). From what I read Nick actually joined the swim team in highschool in order to avoid the local gangs that would harass him. He may act like he's from a different planet but he's never promoted gangs, gang culture, and has done everything in his life to avoid those things.

anyone else see a slight opening for a twister during that scramble when bj had nicks back? even if the opening was for just a split second it wouldve been pretty cool to see

I saw that too, yelled out twister and got the typical crazy stares from everyone in the room. Was it just a split second?? In my mind I felt like BJ was there for a while. But youre probably right, I would have to re-watch it. How awesome would it have been if he had grapevined the leg and went for it though!?

in our minds it probably did feel like a little more than just a split-second. but hey we're sitting on our asses watching it all happen on tv haha. still though. it wouldve been so sick to see!

Diaz has such an active guard. When gsp gets it down there will be no resting. Who's the last person GSP fought that had a truly active/threatening guard?
I would say Shields, but the fight never really got to the ground. I say GSP for the Diaz fight mixes in wrestling/takedowns with some jabs and kicks. GSP by decision too.

This is what is going to happen for sure. I am not even excited about the match up. I think Condit-GSP would have been more exciting since I think Condit looked physcially stronger than Nick in his matchups and has a better chance to stand and bang against GSP.
Nicks pure jiujitsu grappling game is perfectly tailored for GSP to do what he did to BJ.
There is a reason why GSP is now salivating over this matchup. One more easy title defense for him and an apology in the end on why and how he could not finish his opponent allthough he wanted to really take him out this time but he was really tough, maybe made out of plastic or something.

Yeah, a transition to the truck would have made my jaw drop.

I can't recall Shields ever being on his back. Then again I'm not a shields fan so I don't pay attention to him.
