I'm surprised the UFC is willing to invalidate the TUF series by dropping their winners so easily. I think if not for the missing weight it would be a tough sell to the MMA fans to cut Efrain. He had some big wins in the UFC even after winning TUF. But I do like the message this is sending... fail to make weight and we don't care who you are, you will feel the wrath of DW!

Ah true, didn't think about the fact that his contract was up... but still, personally I think it sends a mixed message by dropping the TUF winners. Particularly since in 2 of those 4 fights, Efrain beat Cole Miller AND Dan Lauzon, both very formidable opponents. I'd understand if he lost all 4 fights, or even 3 of the 4, but aside from the weight issue, I don't see a legitimate reason for not renewing his contract. (but hey im just a fan, maybe theres stuff i don't know about)

That part confuses me too... Maybe it was one of those behind the scene things.

I think it's a shame. Efrain is a good fighter who brings it every time out. And he has alot of heart, too. Wasn't he the one who let Dunham break his arm rather than tap? That's a tough guy, man.

That sucks I thought Escudero didn't look that good in his last two fights but they were against two tough opponents. Did anyone else feel like he didn't perform as well as he could of? He controlled Olivera from the Clinch really well but the second he created space Olivera blasted him. If he took on the Couture game plan (Clinch, Dirty Box, Occasional Takedowns) he could have won. Strikeforce would be crazy not to pick him up.

yeah but Lutter fought in the promotion before he went to the house. But technically yes he was the first. Escudero was the first to go all the way through the house just to make it into the UFC and get cut.
