Reasons i made this trip were because i have been with the 10th planet organization for about 7-8 months paying for pro membership and wanted to show my skills and impress people so that i could get some insight on what i need to do to finally get my blue belt after 8 years of Jiu Jitsu. Is it because i dont have the skill? No, because i hang with most purples/browns just fine. Its because i live in a fucking small town and cant get ranked there.

Most people dont understand how frustrating it is for me not being able to compete at my skill level or compete at all. Competeing in Jiu Jitsu tounaments is everything for me, I gave everything up to come here for 1 week. Spent all my familys money, how much you say? enough so my wife who called me yesterday couldnt pay for fuel to heat my house at -11f. She had to call her dad and have him pay. I have given everything i have to be here, walking 1 mile to and from practise two times a day.

What did i learn from the trip? Lots of stuff, More about myself and were my priorties should be. I get looked over while competion matches are going on because i am injured, its a thumb i am fine let me prove myself. I will cut my fucking arm off to prove myself for my family. I just wanted one chance to show that Jiu Jitsu isnt just something i like to do but that I could go somewhere with it.

8 years, 8, years, and I have nothing to show for it. But i guess i can always be a camera man.

Once again thanks for everything, i met many people I will never see again but I will call my friends for the rest of my life.

My e-mail is gerrit@wtflol.net if u guys want the competition matches from my week at HQ. 1-907-799-4481 if u can catch me before i leave LA.
Humble yourself about that blue bro...it took me 6 years to get blue. Not once did i ever consider quitting i do JJ cuz i love it not for some colored fabric... most displeasing. When i tested for blue i honestly did not think that i was going to get it, but i changed my mindset and said ill roll twice as hard and learn twice as much and get it next time(turns out i got it). Never quit...

Family always comes first!!! I'm still waiting to train because of family obligations. It sucks but, a real man takes care of his responsibilities! If you truly love jiu jitsu....then you need to talk to your family and try to make a financial successful plan on how to make it happen. It might take many more years to make it happen but if you truly love jj it will be worth the wait! Most important, your family needs to agree or it won't work.

Realtalk. What are you trying to accomplish with this thread? Venting? Cause anyone on here can relate. Frustration is universal and noone is immune. So jj means alot to you? Thats awesome. Where did you learn it? Friends and net? Me too. Or in a gym? Either way you learned it and it seems your pretty confident in your skillset. People make the place and if there is no infrastucture already in place you must relocate or create one. My guess is there is something there because your right next to a big army base.

I understand you're upset, but seriously dude... You just got to spend a week at fuckin HQ! Ya life is so horrible, I just got to roll with Eddie. So what that you didn't get a belt?! Who the fuck cares! The belt doesn't make the man. Do you want others to respect you or what is the deal? Look at wrestlers for example, they don't need a belt to feel good about themselves. Trust me man. A lot of us have it rough too, and would have loved to have been at HQ.
