    whip up question

    hey guys, question on the whip up. Im currently getting stuck, I go for the whip with double underhooks, and the guy will just slide the leg up that doesnt have the lockdown up to mid rib cage, then hold on under my neck for dear life and I end up just getting stuck in a stale mate... any ideas for me?

    I remember Coach Herzog posting a video (I think) where he shows doing a Fat Whip > Electric chair for someone who is strong and hanging on tightly. (Again, I could be wrong, but I believe that was the scenario.)

    Have you started stomping people to butterfly yet? Are you getting the double under hooks or perfect double underhooks? A video or picture is always nice.

    its not perfect double underhooks, as I havent gotten to my side, im pretty much flat on my back because they hook my neck, bring a leg up and just hold on for dear life... its frusterating...

    I know a few people are shrimping toward old skool and the other options off the lockdown, rather than whipping up at all.

    Seems like this could help solve the problems you are having.

    It also makes their capoeira pass less effective too.

    I assume your opponent has a whizzer in and is holding your neck with his free arm. I think you can modify the Jaws of Life to the Cop Sweep shown in MTS 29. Just reap the arm that is holding your neck, trap it and then switch from the lock down to a butterfly hook with the super stomp - and sweep.

    Ill have to watch the video, Its more like theres one arm underneath my neck and there figure fouring it like they think theres a choke, like a rnc. I tried the fat whip last night but the guy just kept basing out and framing when I tried to roll thru... When Im whipping and am the shorter guy, I feel like I cant extend my lock down enough to wreck and control his base... I hate being short!!! )= I just started shrimping like a mfer last night instead...

    Scott he can't be RNCing,framing and posting/basing all at the same time, your missing windows of oppertunites. Sounds like you need to put in more reps with a training partner. If he's basing and framing, hes not holding onto your head, whip the hips out and go to work.

    Thank you sir... I think thats excatly what I need. It seemed like once I got his arm off my neck, and tried to whip, he would just extend his arms out and stop me mid roll, push back into me and I would get stuck again and have to start over... I will try again tonight, thanks again for sticking it out and helping me. Its hard not having a 10th planet coach to show me what Im doing wrong as Im doing it... maybe Ill have to do visit Denny.... (=
