So, first off, I really liked the techs shown in this episode, and as someone who hates being put in the Z guard, I can't wait to fake toe-hold the next guy who tries it on me.
But the real reason for this thread is to point out the AWESOME transition to a head-and-arm choke that Eddie uses (twice) while rolling with Jared McKaye. The first instance occurs around the 30:59 mark, but you can see it even more clearly at 34:52.
This set up involves hopping from side control to opposite side control, and I love this particular detail: rather than simply sliding the "top" knee (the one by the opponent's head) across the belly to establish control on the opposite side, Eddie wedges his top foot in Jared's knee crevice (a la No Hand Pass style) before transitioning to the opposite side.
Has anyone drilled this before? It makes so much sense, but this is the first time I think I've noticed that detail.
