Henderson Vs Shogun !!!!!(spoilers)

Cot DAM that was an awesome fight. I think that has to be the greatest UFC fight ever. I cannot believe Shogun took all of that abuse from Henderson and made it to the final bell.


Did any of you think it should have been a split decision?

I dreamt I was in UFC heaven tonight. And when I arrived at the pearly gates, Shogun fought Hendo in an epic classic war. Thank you for being so much more interesting than every other sport. I'm hooked again.

Incredible fight! I had Hendo winning. Great job to the ref and the judges for not screwing up this great fight. Shogun has a heart of a Champion. I would love another rematch but it has to 5 rounds again...but I don't see that happen!

In my humble opinion, the last round was the only clear case for a 10-8. Dan did absolutely nothing. I would have scored the fight 10-9 Hendo, 10-9 Hendo, 10-9 Hendo, 10-9 Shogun, 10-8 Shogun. I thought it was very clearly a draw. But, I guess that the judges just didn't think Shogun did enough damage to warrant a 10-8 in the final round. Bummer for Shogun. Props to Hendo. Incredible, increeeedible fight! Up there, for my dollar, with Korean Zombie V Garcia 1. Really reinvigorated my love for MMA.

FOTY. That was an awesome fight, and an awesome card from top to bottom, it will be hard for Mayhem and Bisping to follow this. I have to go back and watch the fight again, but I would say it was a fair decision that could be argued for a draw. Henderson did a lot of damage early on to build a good lead on the score card (and all over shogun's face) and in my opinion Shogun didn't look like he did too much major damage in the fifth for being in mount as long as he was to secure the 10-8 round. Yeah he was dominant position wise, but this isn't sport jits... getting mount is important but the damage is more so to forge out that 10-8.

Agree all around guys, amazing fight, one of if not THE best of all time, and a very, very close fight that could be argued was a draw. I agree with Nick in the sense that the only 10-8 worthy round was probably round 5, but then again Shogun didn't do much from those dominant positions. He'd try to GNP Hendo from mount but wouldn't land anything, although Hendo was so gassed he couldn't even really move.

A draw? I totally agree with Henderson taking the fight myself. But it was the greatest UFC fight in years .
