Gi and no gi.

Went to a traditional jiu jitsu school. A friend of mine who opened one.had to find out if with gi i could still do the same tenth planet system.well u still can. Had no choice but to play a tight game and rubber guard.since i forgot all the gi techs.a little unconfortable because of the jacket.but didnt see the diffrence besides holding and pulling the gi.it was harder for them to pull out of rubber guard and when on crack easier to arm bar by holding on to the sleeve.ohh! And when they saw me put on my ankle sleeves and calf sleeves one guy said alot of injuries. By the time i could speak.well you know brazilians. No hes going to do rubber guard. Then they asked me u do rubber guard alot. I said yes.then they started the eddie bravo talk of him and royler and i guess everyone must know the story on that.well another school i wont be able to go.but didnt leave with out them knowing what a rubber guard is or 10th planit tech. Are and its been a little less than a year that i start it. Thank you eddie!

My school does gi and no-gi nights. A lot of the tenth planet system works in gi (of course it is BJJ, so most will work), but some things need to be modified. For example, if you take double underhooks when a guy is on top of you, you are really opening your self up for collar chokes.

Another example, that happened to me, was that I couldn't roll forward in the twister roll because my gi was grabbed.

So, somethings don't work so great, but overall, if you are good with the 10th planet system, you'll be able to hold your own in gi.

you can use the double underhooks in the gi. you just have to make sure you keep your head close to their chest and sqeeze the double unders. thats the way its suppose to be done anyway, just keep it tight.
