On that note I may as well lay mine out too (since I've caught heat beefore too)
White Belt officially in jiu-jitsui
Studying on and off for a year, lots to learn of course
Attend grappling courses/classes at a dojo in North Andover MA, Whitewater MMA in Framingham, and member of the Harvard Self Defense club in Harvard MA.
I always try to go light in rolling too, as alot of the kids
I practice with we're all wet behind the ears (I will err on the side
of caution and give up a position or tap early if I think it's getting out of control rather then risk getting hurt or the other person).
I would love to be under the tuteluge of a 10th planet instructor, but I haven't been able to budget enough time to devote so that it's worth their time so most of my learning is through the MTS videos, and what classes I can catch (and the forum too).
other martial arts:
Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, gold medal in forms, silver in breaking, bronze in sparring. My master was a 5th degree, and graduated several successful black belts (and he eventually sold the school to a former student who continues to carry on the name for Alpha Tae kwon Do).
1 year of WWE style wrestling on my street-done wide range of moves including (but not limited to) DDTs, Rock Bottoms, Stunners, slamming through boxes (both on and not on fire) and chair shots. My character was based on Stone Cold and Triple H. We suffered 0 injuries during that time span (the only thing that happened once was my glasses got lightly scratched which I promprtly stopped wearing during wrestling moments, and we acidentally bumped into one of the cameramen on a suplex). Unfortunately the film never got converted to DVD format.
I've also watched a long range of Van Damme movies, most of my Muay Thai and karate/kickboxing basics in standup are from his style mixed with my TKD(the spinning back fists and knees he does in Universal Soldier, his elbows from Kickboxer, etc).
My goal is just to have fun, have some laughs, and keep in shape.
