Why do people hate Jon Jones?

What makes him so polarizing? There are few people that are on the fence with him. It's usually "this kid is special" or "(insert comment about why I don't like Jones)."

I think it's because being a goodie two shoes is polarizing. It's like why people hate Tebow. People are suspicious. We're so used to being around shitty people that we doubt that Jones is really this good guy that he claims to be.


I also think people hate that this young kid who's pretty new to the sport is taking out legends of the sport with relative ease. He's beating their favorite fighters so they resort to excuses.


Or maybe they hate the way he interviews. With his cocky eyebrow raised. He tries too hard to be funny and does his best to appear humble.

So what say ye? Why do YOU "hate" Jon Jones and why do so many people want him to lose?

I don't hate him, he really is something special. However he has beaten a lot of guys i like so probably why i am not his biggest fan. Still, nobody can deny his talent. Yes he hasn't really been tested, or hit hard, but that's because he is so damn talented. Plus he is physically gifted too. Utilizes his reach advantage perfectly. :-)

Personally I liked Jon Jones then I saw this. If Rashad is telling the truth then I question how big Jon's head is becoming.

I liked him a lot until a few the interviews he did after winning he belt. Like how he refuses to sign the replica ufc bet cause he "earned his". Made me realize how young and immature he is. He acts all humble but I don't think he really is. So as a person I don't care for him but as a fighter he's amazing to watch.

People probably hate him because he pokes them in the eyes.

LMAOoooooooooooooooooo. I believe this. Real recognize real. Rashad's never been fake even when it made him look bad. This story sounds legit. My landlord went to the same highschool as Jones. Jones is a nerdy dude. Sheltered. Dorky even. That's they type of junk a dude like that would do. It doesn't make me dislike Jones. It just reminds me of how dorky he is. LMAO. I think he'll beat Rashad though. He might be dorky, but he's still a good fighter.


EDIT: Rashad is totally in Jones' head though.

I think half the camp is divided between people who side with Rashad Evans and think he just rose up due to the fact his long reach gives him such an advantage (and his natural talent) although don't take away how hard he worked for that 7-8 months before his first MMA fight. Alot of people have said he benefits heavily from all of Coach Jackson's strategy planning too (St Pierre seems to have some critics that way too although Jones seems to finish people more than he does albeit I love both of them). Rashad claims he has beaten Jones in practice, so that seems to give fuel to the people on his side. The other camp on Jone's side is with him because they like his style (it's fun to watch) and because his is pretty charasmatic. That's my take on it.....
