Got my Blue Belt on Sunday!

I attended a seminar for my team, Best Way BJJ that we have every December with Master Ricardo Liborio. My instructor, Andre "Dedeco" Almeida received his black belt from Liborio and they're still very close friends, so at the end of every year Liborio makes a trip to Massachusetts to teach a seminar for our team.

After the seminar, Dedeco holds his annual belt promotion ceremony, and the last person he called up to get his blue belt was myself! My teammates had been saying stuff to me for a couple months, like "Oh, so you're getting your blue belt in December right?!" and I kept insisting that I wouldn't since I didn't think I was ready. Now that Dedeco has given me the honor of recognizing me as a blue belt though, I'm making sure I work even harder to improve everyday!

Just wanted to share that with you guys, and say thanks for being so down to earth and being able to come on here to just talk about jiu-jitsu and whatever else may come up. I love this game!!!

Congrats brother I was just promoted on Friday as well through Sean Bollinger here with my family 10thPlanet Vista its a great feeling definatly more motivation to push harder to represent your school and strive to get better and earn that Purple belt.

Hoping 1 day i get a blue belt. However not really done any gi work or gradings as i have only ever done no-gi. Also unfortunately here in the UK we don't have 10th planets dotted all over the place. Hence why i am planning a trip over to 10th planet HQ around April time. :-(

e2a - that post sounds wrong. not assuming Eddie would give me a blue belt, just meant the lack of UK 10th planets is why i am coming over. And to learn from Mr Bravo twice a day for as long as i can afford to stay out there (probably just a couple of weeks as i have a wife and kids at home).

Thanks man, where do you train out of and where did you see the Best Way Gis haha. They're actually made by a member of our team who co-owns the company Origin. The Best Way Gis are technically custom-made Origin Gis, and they come stock for all the guys who sign up at our school. Although, there was a kid I worked with yesterday who signed up less than a month ago and has one of the new Origin Comp 550 Gis, not sure if he bought it on his own or if Dedeco let him trade up for that one instead.

I just saw them on the origin website under the custom section. Dedeco had one those gi's in a picture and it looked sweet.
