Ive done some crossfit, and its a very intense, satisfying workout.

My worry is that done too often and to some of the suggested loads and times it could have some very adverse effects.

I too am no strongman certified coach, or anything like, and as much as I have enjoyed doing the crossfit wods over the years I cannot hand on heart say they have given me anything extra at all when it comes to grappling on the mats or MMA.

My attitude is mostly, if you enjoy it then do it regardless. But with this sort of training care and experience and correct form must be higher up on the agenda than just blasting out personal bests and potentially nailing your joints. So I'd prefer to spend an hour or so rolling than doing weights; but if theres no one to roll with then this could possibly help your strength to some extent.

Man thats painful to watch, especially the beginning. Postures, bad shoulders super high up and of course they are cringing to get it up. The problem with crossfit is it is catered as the anyone can do it fitness. Problem is everyone is different and their bodies are not all the same. Certain exercises are good for you and certain aren't, kinda like certain moves in jiu jitsu work well for you based on certain things but might not work for the guy with a bad back or short arms. My physio would cringe if she saw this.

    Oh... my... god...

I watched about the first 16 seconds of that and couldn't watch anymore. That is god fucking awful. That is just BEGGING for a serious injury; herniated disc, torn ligaments, strained muscles, you name it. Fitness should always be about FUNCTIONAL strength and movement. If you can't move the weight through a proper range of motion with proper core support and mechanics, the weight is too much. Sure there is a role for high-weight/low-rep strength training, but it has to be done right or you're not developing anything, just causing damage. I hope that place either gets a competent coach or shuts the fuck down before someone is seriously hurt. That was horrifying...

    People are stupid.

I bet those girls can't do a single pushup. You must learn to crawl before running or whatever....

All the crossfit I have seen is a one size fits all drill Sargent bone head mentality. Great if you're already fit and ready for it. They do have killer workouts but whatever this is is just wacky.

I'm a personal trainer and I can tell you these people have't done this before ... It's the same with everything your form is more important then the weight you are doing , The instructors at this Crossfit do not know what they are doing letting people try to lift way to heavy to fast... They wont last long.

Holy crap that was excruciating! Definitely not a good advertisement for crossfit, and especially not that gym/those trainers. "Let the bar fly above your head." Yeah, and then come crashing down upon it.
