That was depressing. Big Nog had him almost finished. I still think Nog is twice the grappler as Frank Mir but Mir is GREAT at finishing subs. He might not have great sweeps or positions but if you give him a limb, he'll take it home. I've always been a fan of Mir as a fighter but Idk how people can not like Nog.

Who knows what would've happened if they fought in Nog's prime but it's irrelevant, as Mir is the better fighter right now.

i almost gave up on mir in that fight, he just wasnt throwing anything at nog and was just standing there taking them, then he got dropped and i was all pissed off that he lost, then he somehow managed to get side control and attacked the arm like a boss. when i saw that arm pop i fucking shouted so loud haha, it was 4am here

Mir made Nog pay for a mistake. Nog should not have gone for the guillotine. He should've gone to the back. Mir capitalized.

Stager, Nog is still great. Saying he isn't is like saying Couture isn't great or Chuck isn't great. Nog was doing pretty good until Mir caught up to him. It doesn't make Nog less of a legend, but it definitely boosts Mir's credibility. I knew Mir would win though. I was just rooting for Nog. But Mir's a bad MF'er and once he had that locked in, I knew a tap was inevitable. He takes limbs home.

But honestly, Nog put on a great performance despite the loss. Seriously, one person's win doesn't diminish his opponent's abilities. Machida would still own most of the LHW division. He just can't beat Jones. Cain can run through most of the HW's, he just can't beat JDS. Nog can still beat a lot of HW's. He just won't get a title.

Truth be told, I don't dislike Nog at all. But I do dislike elitist fans who believe that Pride was the thinking man's MMA, and that the UFC is for rednecks who have no appreciation for the intricacies of the sport. Rather than create a sherdog account to address those individuals, I decided to rant on this forum instead. It was in no way directed at any of you guys, and just laziness on my part.
