This is probably my favorite documentary I've ever seen. Kurzweil is awesome, by far my favorite futurist.

That is a great documentry. I had to write a 20 page paper on nanotechnology for my physiology of pathology class and alot of what Kurzweil predicts is accuate, but the general consensus with in the field is that his timeline for the evolution of technology is off and some of the technologies he discusses are much further off than he predicts. Although, alot of the technologies he discusses are already being used today.

Man. I messaged Eddie about Ray about 2 years ago on the old forum. I wonder if he finally checked him out because of me. That would be pretty sweet.

Just watched it last night. I, too, was guilty of thinking too linearly about the future, when the exponential model for technological advancement makes a lot of sense (and has been backed up by empirical data). State of the art tech is used to make the next generation state of the art tech, and so on. Makes me excited to see what's next.

It will be interesting to see if technology can advance fast enough to deal with global warming and population growth. We'll see in the next thirty years, I guess.
