Sorry to hear this. I know how you feel. I have had an on going lower back problem from several car accidents plus
separate incidents with whiplash in car accidents. Could not even hold my
head up for a long time. My back hurts me most of the time even now as
we speak. Plus I had a my collar bone pulled out of my sternum and separated
ribs from by sternum. I'm a mess but I continue to train. Some times you just
have to take time off. If you don't slow down you'll be forced to stop. You sound
very enthusiastic about grappling as me but you have to get the proper rest and
some times rehabilitation. Grappling is a tough rough sport that we train hard in and if we
don't get the proper rest we will likely get injured or reinjured over and over again.
Taking four weeks off is not something we want to do but sometimes we have to.
Actually we don't need to train every day all day. Once you've been grappling for
awhile you should cut back to just a few days a week. Don't roll all the time. Every
night should not be ADCC night. Take time off if you must. Lift light weighs and work
around your injuries.
While taking time off you can keep up with your grappling knowledge by watching instructional
grappling videos. I watch them any way. Continue to watch grappling classes. Keep your mind
sharp.
