I like to sweep with Old School
    then either:
    1) pass with the sweep to side-control and finish with a kimura from north south.
    or
    2) Get cought in half gaurd an pass straight to mount. (dunno what the pass is called, i first get head and arm control to keep his shoulders on the mat, then reach back and push my opponents knee's open so my own can slide through to mount.)
and finish with the mounted triangle/armbar off the slo-triangle.

in particular, I'v been having a lot of sucsess with the mounted triangle-armbar recently, but as i'm still a whitebelt i try to scrap everything and start from scratch (as far as finishes is concerned) to get new techniques down every 2 weeks or so. i think this is the best way to learn. i'm thinking to focus on the north-south choke, taking the back and controling my opponet better in my rubber guard over the next few weeks.
Then sometime over the summer once i'v devoloped better top control, i'm gonna take couple of weeks where i'm just going to guillitene everything from everywhere.

i have NO wrestling so in order to reach the top position i have to work somthing from the bottom. I have become very good at escaping mount and regaining half guard.

I get DESTROYED from side control though and my recent "project" been working to try and improve on that. I'v been getting Chris Herzog's Ghost escape (not consistantly, but much more frequently than anything else) and i'v been watching some marcello garcia video's and picked up from points from that.

    SWEEPS HOMIE!!!!
wrestling is basically a FAILSAFE of keeping you aware of where you are its great to have but technique beats it everytime...
if your still brand new to BJJ your doing an AWESOME job!!!!
juijitsu is SUCH a technical practice theres no way to master it in a day just too much to learn in one sitting, yeah principals can be used here and there but everything is ALWAYS different all the time its more of who learned more techniques and who can apply them
you'll get there homie, marcello IS PIMPPPPPPPPPPPPP definatly a great place to start!
