My Anti Plea

Hey look, I don't enjoy this kind of thing, but you did call out
one of the brothers on this forum - you don't have to like everyone,
but you're talking about respect and trashing someone in the same sentence,
didn't make sense to me. The only person worthy of being hated around
here is the good ole Corkster.

Is he a brother, though? He doesn't train. Doesn't rep 10th P. Doesn't do much besides look for ways to offend people. Who's brother is he?

I agree with you BUT it is also important to NOT sit back and let people disrespect your Coach so HE doesn't have to. I am, say, showing my respect.

I've only known Herzog for around four years, but he's like my big brother. There's a stable of OGs outta Rochester that get awfully protective of their alpha dog. He'll forever be "Coach" to me. That's both a term of endearment AND respect. I'd gag on my mouthpiece trying to say "Chris". I can't do it. Maybe if he gave me a lawful and direct order to call him Chris... still.

I know this may sound like bias, but all I can say is, either have him has your head coach, or go to his seminars. Like I've said, the votes don't lie. People aren't voting for their favorite moderator. What the votes indicate is how much work he put in behind the scenes. The videos are just a fraction of that. And that's why this is an anti plea. If he were to list, it'd sound like bragging. But the folks that voted, the know thee deal. It is what it is. The hate and possible envy is unwarranted. All the guys up there deserve their shot. But only one can take it. And the people have spoken so to speak. I look forward to voting for the next guy next year.

Taylor has a history of trashing people, and has done it in the past to 10th Planet instructors (and I'm not talking about his troll/game with Derek). An entire thread was deleted of him bashing another instuctor. Hes been suspended 3x, and could have been banned several more times. What you don't see is the number of posts that get deleted before you see them. But it won't be an issue any longer, he is gone.

I'm not hating on the kid. Every forum has it's resident negative attention seeking guy with crude humor. I'm used to it. I chuckle every so often. But it's not cool when he puts more people off than anything.

But for the sake of other people, dude is not brotherly at all. People don't come on here for the Taylor Culbertson show. They come on here for camaraderie, ideas, BJJ related info and the occasional laugh. This isn't exactly the place for a guy like Taylor.

You don't sell Coca Cola at a vegan food spot. You gotta know your market. And Taylor doesn't have the best audience on this forum. At a certain point you gotta know when to cut your losses when 90 people hate you, 5 people like you, and 5 people choose to just ignore your existence. You know? I'm not bashing the guy. There is a respect martial artists have for one another and especially their instructors that i think people who do not study the arts truly don't and won't understand until they have trained with an instructor that truly means well for a few years.

you should take it as a compliment from him to be honest, if he thought of you as a nobody he wouldnt have bothered, but he clearly sees the respect you deserve and had to try and fuck with you on a bigger scale than he would with other jabronis.
saying taylor doesnt fit in here is retarded, more retarded than a lot of his posts. sure the forum should be about jiujitsu and the lifestyle, but the majority of the time there is nothing to post because you can only have so many videos of competitions until the next lot get filmed, or have the same conversations about the same things over and over, think of how many threads just get reposted by a different person like a few days or weeks later. if we didnt have taylor there posting his constant shitstream with the rarely added nice things, this forum would somewhat less entertaining. i like watching the back and forth bitching between him and some angry person every now and again, i like the picture of the day thread and so do many others, hell, i even like when the bastard shits on videos or comments i post, cos i know hes doing it for the fun of it and i never take it personally. i think we all just need to accept taylor as the one and only Nibiru troll and then we can coexist with the monster and abuse his need to give us funny shit to read and watch.
