UK 10th planet people. Comps and what not....

Hey guys, so basically after spending the last couple days looking for as many no gi comps as I can find in England in 2012 and I find a miserable total of about 3, and 2 of those are opposite ends of the country to me lol. Fortunately the uk is pretty small so shall enter those regardless.
Anyway just wondered what the rest of you did about the lack of competitions for no gi over here?
Also maybe we could use this topic to help each other out by keeping each other informed on when comps etc are happening as I want to compete as much as possible in 2012.

Another thing I was thinking about was we could do some 'gym' show type things that could be cool too. I own my own place so could provide a venue for us all to have a day of competitive rolling/training etc, maybe before a big comp like Seni we should all get together. Could be cool as I am sure we have all learnt different paths etc.

sounds cool man, i'm originally from Ashford so not too far from you and i should be moving back there next year so i'll definitely be able to pop up your way or head to some comps with you. im looking to go to my first comp later this year hopefully, but only if theres one close enough to me lol.

that 'gym' idea is good man, i feel like every single time i roll with someone i get a little better, the better the rolling partner, the bigger the skill gains i get pluts its nice to go against guys that dont know your style and you dont know theres, i like trying to figure out a guys skills whilst trying to use mine.
but im still a total jits noob haha

I just thought it would be a good way to help spread the 10th planet love over here in the UK. I will help in any way I can, so just so you know, the doors to my gym are open to you all any time, and obviously none of you would ever have to pay. My gym is also in close proximity to the train station, town, hotels, bars and restaurants. And goes without saying, those that want to are welcome to have a good smoke etc too. :-)

i plan on competing as much as possible this year. i will compete in all the ground control comps theres normal 5-6 and all the rest. would be good to organise a get together with all the guys from the uk we did 1 a year ago i think its about time for another. im down for traveling aswell

That must equate to one every month or so. All those are well attended and of a good standard.

Yes but not one of them are even remotely local to me. No ground control events have been announced yet, although certainly they will be, how many who knows. Spartan is in bristol which is again the opposite end of the country, uma have 2 nogi events this year and 1 open, plus Seni. Defo not 1 a month. Not even close.
An issue for me is all these events are like 300+ miles away. Il have to stay in hotels and shit to be able to compete. Seni I the only comp 'local' to me and that is 75+ mile away which isn't too bad at all. Just want to compete. :-)
