    Gluten Free

My wife and I found out my daughter was intolerant to wheat and wheat gluten when she around 1 year old (she's 3 now). And it looks like my son is in the same boat plus an intolerance to dairy as well. Its been intersting changing up the diet but now its not that bad. Food is just about 3 times more expensive.
Anybody else dealing with a gluten free diet?

Actually, "Gluten sensitivity" is actually a thing now. It's usually the reason people shit their guts out after eating half a pizza(or more).

Yeah, my daughter has celiac disease. She trains with me and eats with me, we try to eat a lot of brown rice, fruit smoothies, veggies, lean meats and so forth. When she's with her mom they buy all that expensive gluten free junk and she always feels crummy after eating that packaged processed stuff. I say save some money and cook real food.

It's a lot easier to get away with one of those intolerances. Having both sucks =/ No cheesy garlic bread!

My wife did one of those tests where you go cold turkey then introduce them to see if it messes you up. That month (or at least it felt like a month) was hard. Pretty much no snacks, and finding good recipes was hard.

Brent my wife has a Gluten allergy, and we are both sensitive to dairy as well. Our Diet is Organic, natural, dairy free, and gluten free. Its had a amazing effect on my energy levels and overall health: I'm sick less often, when I do get a cold now it doesn't linger for 2 plus weeks, improved energy levels, less digestive issues, it keeps me regular, etc. I really don't see it as a hindrance more along the lines of something to help improve my overall game. Diet fuels my ability to do what I love, so I don't see that I'm missing out on anything.

I will tell you Gluten free products are hit and miss, some taste grainy and bland and other are fucking amazing, alot of trial and error. My wife is a certified herbalist and natural health professional if you have any questions feel free to ask I can pass them on. I already know she will recommend enzymes to help with her digestion, we both take them and they have a significant effect.

If you follow the Paleo Diet, which I do now, there is no gluten. It's simple, eat meat and veggies. Fruits and nuts are good too. ZERO processed foods and no sugar. You don't need to eat dairy, legumes, and even grains (including whole grains). Food is a bit more expensive, since veggies are more expensive than bread, rice, pasta. But the overall diet is way healthier. I actually end up eating a lot of greens, since I don't eat the other stuff. I've been considering adding sweet potato into the diet, but strictly speaking, it's not allowed in the Paleo Diet. There is no need to eat processed gluten free products. A lot of them are not even good for you. Just eat foods in its natural state. I generally go by this rule, if you can't eat it raw, then don't eat it. Besides extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar and some supplements, I eat nothing that is processed.

Same here Louis, we've been using the Paleo diet for over 3 years now (slightly modified).

Def hit or miss on gluten free products. We typically don't bother buying them unless we're doing something special. Basically half a loaf of bread is $5. I'm the only one in my family that can eat whatever the hell I want. Both my kids can't eat wheat, both my son and wife can't have any sort of dairy (not just lactose) and my wife is allergic to fruit (lemon is the worst). We're actually moving towards an organic/natural diet. Never imagined diet would play such a huge role in my life. Major learning experience but after 2 years we're finally in the swing of things and we're making less mistakes in knowing what products sneak wheat or dairy in. I do miss going out and eating mexian food. I swear they sprinkle flour on everything. My daughter got so sick the one time we tried.
Zog ill have to get some more info from you especially about the enzymes
