John Dodson is heading back to New Jersey.
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 winner, who made a trip to the "Garden State" last year to tryout for the former Spike TV reality show, is now booked to throw hands against Darren Uyenoyama at UFC on FOX 3 on May 5, 2012, from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford.
And he'll do it in his natural weight class of 125-pounds.
Dodson (12-5) graduated at the top of his TUF class, laying waste to Brandon Merkt, "Prince" Albert and Johnny Bedford. That set up a showdown against T.J. Dillashaw in last December's live finale, which he won in devastating fashion.
Can "The Magician" show off some new tricks as a flyweight?
Standing in his was will be Uyenoyama (7-3), also the beneficiary of the promotion's new weight class.
"BC" has been playing pinball with his career, bouncing off promotions such as Cage Combat Fighting Championships (CCCFC), Deep, Shooto, Strikeforce and now the UFC. His first appearance inside the Octagon resulted in a unanimous decision win over Norifumi Yamamoto.
Who establishes themselves as the next big thing at 125-pounds?
UFC on FOX 3 will be headlined by a lightweight fight featuring Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz. The victor is widely-expected to move on to face the winner of Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson, who compete next month at UFC 144 in Japan.
Stay tuned for future announcements to this still-developing fight card.
