To me even these numbers don't tell the whole story. They are based on there last 5 main/co main events.
ufc 83 Matt Serra took his belt was it a fluke? Interesting fight, it sold ppv. I guess that makes him a draw, could he redeem him self against a 155lb fighter?
ufc 87 This is where it gets funny, Brock the number one grossing guy was on that card, hmm.
ufc 94 This was a historic event for the first time somebody was moving up in weight to try and be the first person to hold a title in two weight div. at the same time. I think that credit goes to BJ.
ufc 100 A co main event with, yes again, the number one draw.
ufc 111 Even though it was not labeled a co main event this card featured a second title fight between Mir and Carwin for the interim heavy weight belt. That and the Nibiru nation tuned in hoping to see Hardy knock G.S.P out only to watch a black belt struggle and not finish a purple belt.(I realize the last part probably had virtually no impact on the ppv sales)
I would like to see Dana explain his statement even though the numbers dispute it. I think her point was when most people watch G.S.P. fight they are not jumping out of there seat with excitement and for that to be said for a long time raining champion of the biggest promotion in the sport.......that's "bad for the sport".
