Also, did I hear him say "Terra guard"? Is he naming moves? Didn't he give Eddie shit, saying he was naming moves?

That doesnt sound like Terra guard.

I also want to point out the double standard that its ok for Ciao to invent a move name but as soon a s an American does it it's the end of the world. Haters gonna hate.

Trained with him twice. He basically plays a 93 guard with his feet crossed. Maybe I didn't explain it right.

So the guard he calls "Terra Guard", named after himself, already has a name? Wow he not only renamed the move he named it after himself. WTF.
Jigoro Kano → Tsunejiro Tomita → Mitsuyo "Count Koma" Maeda → Carlos Gracie, Sr. → Jean Jacques Machado → Eddie Bravo → Myself

Not sure if it had a name. Sean B was out here and taught a weeks worth of stuff from what he called 93 guard. Then Caio came out and taught "Terra Guard" which seemed just like the 93 but with feet crossed. So who knows. Maybe I am wrong.

lifting weights correctly prevents injuries. caio should consider doing some squats.

Ok ill explain Terra Guard best i can.

Your opponent is standing (or kneeling with one leg up).

You are on the right sidish of your body and your right leg is hooking the right leg of your opponent.

You reach your right arm underneath your right leg (not over your thigh under your thigh as well) but in front of their right leg and grab your shin (rubber guard style).

You keep your left leg far away from them and you use your left arm across their chest throat to maintain distance.

Your left leg is not entangled with their body at all.

This is my understanding. There may be some misinterpretations (on your part) or some missing parts in my explanation (my bad) as i am new to Terra guard.

If i can remember right, caio told once that he started doing the "terra guard" when he was around a blue belt or so and he hadn't seen anyone else doing it so people started calling it Terra's guard and it kinda stuck and thats how he taught it, but caio was hopped up on 2 tubs of hagen daz so i might have interpreted part of the story wrong lol

On a side note, Caio also just posted a video on his facebook that mentions Renato near the end, I just assumed it was the same one as this until I watched it...

Also, guys from Springfield will recognize the photo of all the Naga medals, belts and swords at 9:17
