I've repeatedly booted myself in the face for not being able to make these seminars. The new baby has my ass draggin and still trying to get everything together for Brandon's seminar here. However, I'll def. be droppin in on you guys this summer while on my way to Elkhart In. Hopefully I can squeeze a roll in with the Chitown boys too.

Friendly 10th Planet Indy - Great Instruction - NO EGOs!

Hey, this is a shout out to Bill Keeling and 10th Planet Indy. I drove across town to pay my Eddie pre-reg dues (my wonderful wife BOUGHT ME the Eddie seminar for my 38th birthday last week - again, wonderful wife!) and Bill had offered me a visit class. I was thoroughly impressed by Bill's helpfulness and willingness to take time and ensure all his students (and yes, the visitor as well) were hitting the moves right and UNDERSTANDING what they were doing. His class was a bit different than usual for a Saturday, he included MMA conditioning, and by 3 PM hadn't gotten to pure 10th Planet stuff - SO, he invited me and whoever else could to stay JUST so he could take me, the non-paying visitor, through the rubber guard foundation. Of course that mushroomed into some other sweet moves, Ninja choke being my favorite off of the defended guillotine, and a few others I was sworn to secrecy on ("illegal moves from the government, gosh!"). Finally, I didn't pick up on one ego there - all were welcoming, nobody was trying to hurt the other during drilling - very friendly, especially for a visitor from a traditional gi-school. Kudos Bill! See you March 3rd (and after reading about Herzog's leg lock seminar it's going to be really tempting, we'll see!).

BTW, though my home school is "traditional" we do no gi training in summer, can roll without gi, and Greg has been coaching wrestling for over 10 years so he includes cool wrestling-jitsu stuff. And since he trained with Royce, Rickson, and the brothers in Torrence back in the day he's totally cool with no-gi grappling. <When I re-read my post I didn't want it to come across that I was saying my school was anti-no-gi!>

I am glad you enjoyed your visit Rudy! It was nice having another sponge on the mat! You represented your school well (and you didn't come off as anti-no-gi at all) I know my workout's are a beast to complete and you stuck in there! Way to work Rudy! It was my pleasure to share the knowledge! I have never been in it for the money... Just to spread "real rubber guard" to all who wish to learn! Jiu Jitsu is more than a hobby for me, it is my LIFE!!! I hope you can make it back out soon
Thank you for the kind words and excellent review of my gym!

I'm cooler than the other side of the pillow if this new sponsor comes through and I'll be there. Otherwise, I'm just another $8/hr warehouse worker teaching 14 + hrs. a week= broke ass ain't comin. I'd love the chance to learn from you for a bit though!
