    passing half butterfly?

Anyone have good principals for passing half butterfly guard. Not worried about the sweep but it seems hard not go go back to full butterfly.
    Any help would be great!

My only advice would be just work on passing in general. Mix it up between open guard and butterfly passes. Then just modify those movements and incorporate them to pass the half butterfly. Drill passing the half butterfly. As long as you react before they put you back in butterfly then there are quite a few places to go.

Also, pin their hips and dont let them get under your hips either. Keeping pressure on their leg with your hand when passing can be important with some of the passes too, since you need to take your weight off their hips to pass sometimes.
If you dont pressure the leg that has the butterfly enough, it can be used to elevate you just enough for them to recover full butterfly, so its always worth thinking about controlling their elevators.

Sean taught a whole series on it on the cruise. He'll stuff open guard to half butterfly then pass , works real well. I know it was all filmed but not sure how much was posted. It's my open guard pass of choice now.

Wasn’t that ¾ butterfly (opposite leg not between your legs)? Yeah, that’s a different pass and great stuff too. Are you going on the next traincation, Brian?

Wouldn't miss it. Last year exceeded expectations. With events like that it's no wonder we're tearing it up. 2012 is going to be an awesome year to be part of the 10th Planet family!

+1 for clips of Seans 3/4, 1/4 or any other fraction that exists from his passing game.

13:43 MTS 25. He sprawls back and does the same pass from 3/4 as that open guard pass. Other than that, we were asked not to post footage of the seminar, which is why you won't find it anywhere. That's how 10 listen
