Carlos had an excellent performance. You can't say he ran. What Kalib Starnes did against Nate Quarry, that was running. Carlos used his footwork to avoid Nick's strikes and he hit Nick with many more in return. Whenever he was backed against the cage where Nick likes to unload, he circled out and got back to the center. He threw beautiful head kicks, flying knees, spinning elbows, everything you can hope for. You can't be mad at a guy for winning. Your anger would be better directed at Nick for not being skilled enough to adjust his gameplan and find a way to drag Carlos into a dogfight. Standing there begging an opponent to stop moving so you can hit him isn't how to do it.

Wrong! Nick landed more strikes to the head and body with a higher degree of accuracy.

Obviously these numbers aren't always perfect but they do a good job. Honestly, I didn't even think it was close. It could've been scored a 50-45 shutout and I wouldn't argue.

If you give points for moving the direction your face is pointing, then Nick put a GSP-Fitch style beatdown on Carlos.

Take away the leg kicks that did nothing to slow down Diaz they were thrown to score points. Jose Aldo hits you with that many leg kicks and your not walking any more. You throw leg kicks that count and you can't move away as fast as Carlos did.

....and over all, leg kicks included, Nick landed everything with a higher degree of accuracy. Numbers are not enough you have to break them down and look at what they really mean.

Now you're going all Cecil Peoples on leg kicks? =P

From my perspective, I saw Nick getting outstruck pretty easily. I kept waiting for the moment where he landed a bomb to rock him, or for Carlos to slow down and Nick starts catching him more. It never happened. The reverse happened actually, Carlos was pouring on the heat for the last 3 rounds and Nick still could barely find him. I know I can't wait to rewatch it later.
