all depends on the opponent... if hes driving me down with a harsh whizzer than plan b. if he has great base and slightly stands while i try the knee grab, i switch to a single leg take down. if his whizzer sucks..limp arm to the back.
Most of the time though i play between the knee grab and plan b since the defense for each opens up the other. Havnt used the powder keg as of yet because i like side control, but id definitely consider it if all else fails.

there are tons of wrestling options when you can get to dog fight. Eddie calls grabbing the knee the "half and half." powder keg is fun when they let it happen but guys get wise to it. guys also anticipate the limp arm to back. Lately I've been getting my wrestling on from dog fight.

almost all the guys I roll with are 175 pounds and up, and since im 145 I rarely can whip up enough to get on the elbow and up to dog fight. Although if you do, the powder keg usually suprises them at first till they catch on. When I have HG my go to is pimp arm to the hip and scoop the hips out then old school or check the leg to FG if he bases out.

I have tried the powder keg a few times and covered it once in class, but it has always been stuffed in rolling. After Dylans comment I figured I give it a few hundred more reps!!
And well, my wrestling really, really sucks and I am going against several high school and college wrestling all stars. Yes, i know good practice, but I mostly get drilled onto my back and end up getting HG again!! About all I'm getting good at is getting back up to dog fight.

A detail coach used to give us with the Powder Keg was to be sure and hike that leg up his back. If you have his right leg in the lockdown, you whip up, get to dogfight, and you should be on his right. Loop your left arm above his far trap and drive into him. This is to get him to posture up a bit and create some space for you. Hook your left leg over his back -- from the side, you should look like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant. Post on your right hand. Your positioning should be such that you could just hang out and swing freely with your weight distributed between your left leg and your right hand. This is what allows you to swing your right leg all the way through into position to finish the triangle. Hiking that left leg over the back makes all the difference in the world. It gives you a lot more control so you can actually pull it off faster and with better technique. Gives him less time to react and defend. I've even gotten so much momentum that way that I rolled it into a mounted triangle without meaning to.

From dogfight you can also half-limp arm out to a deep hook, feed your right through and swim move to spiderweb.
