In the Rader vs Hall video, I hate how Rader won on a two point take down when Hall had about 35-50 different leg lock attempts and Rader didn't have one single solid submission attempt that I could recognize, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Although I've been training for years, when I watch a jiu jitsu tournament, I feel like a confused wife who has no idea what the rules are of the sport she's being forced to watch. I spend the whole time going, "who's winning?" "what's this guy trying to do?" "what just happened?". I totally don't understand why all the Ryan Hall leg locks didn't add up to a point somewhere along the way.
I don't compete and I find watching the average JJ tournament really boring, but I think submission only tournaments are definitely the way to go.
