    I finally started jiu jitsu!!

Today was my first day.I started with stretching and warm ups. Then I learned how to land on the mat, double leg take down, sweeps and how to mount. I gassed the first 5 minutes of warming up, but it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I joined. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I'm very sore.. Haha.

congrats, you'll be addicted shortly, tell your girl to get used to it, it's usually them or jiujitsu, and guess who wins, ask your instructor to teach you some mount escapes, and sub escapes, gotta learn to survive before you can thrive.

Very true, the white belt is all about survival. Stick to the basics cause the fancy stuff will never work until you know how to get there first.

The first step is the most important one. Keep going.

yeh, although i learnt rubber guard as my first techniques which people say is complicated, but personaly,l all jiu jitsu is based on simple mechanics and principles. I will say, sweeps, transitions and escapes are the most important to learn in my inexperienced opinion, just for the simple reason it allows you to compete in class, rather than lying on your back getting smashed.

your going to gas quickly for a while man, because your new you probably will be trying to force out of things and will be tired quickly. focus on technique and set small goals for yourself. maybe 1 goal could be dont get tapped out in one 5 minute roll, or get to a dominant position. if you set small goals for yourself you wont get down on yourself as much. if you look at it like oh man i keep getting tapped and i cant pass guard ect.. it can put you in a bad mood and might not get you excited to come back. every new roll is a chance to fix something you failed on in the previous roll.

    KEEP POSITIVE and have fun!
