Well I would make a first impression on that as...... He is very well experienced in many areas mostly tkd. As a blue belt tho I'm nit sure that would qualify you to instruct bjj. Have to be already purple belt in my opinion. But I have been instructed by blue belts I still do we kind of teach each other our own style and thing we excel at individually. Best advice I've heard was to take a test drive at both places even tho one class alone may not do it try to get at least a week free.

You'd be surprised at how much you can learn from a blue belt. I'd train with him. I didn't like gi either until I acually started training in it. I was close minded towards the gi, but love it now. Still roll nogi though. Gotta rep my roots, 10P, baby!

I would be hesitant to train under a blue. I mean, you can learn and its better than nothing, but a blue still has a lot of trial and error left to do in BJJ.

I honestly think that if you wanna understand the evolution to No Gi you gotta learn the Gi but that's just my opinion

Not so much, in my opinion. However, it is pretty hard to transition from nogi to gi. I felt like a fish out of water when I first rolled in a gi. lol
