    Absolute division

I'm planning on taking a stab at the absolute division in a few upcoming tournaments. I'm a pretty small guy, I weigh 145 and I'm 5'10 on a good day. I was just wondering what is everyone's highest percentage submissions to do on big guys? Also any suggestions on finishing omoplatas on bigger people, or would you suggest just not trying it?

Highest percentage would be to take the back and choke or heel hook. You may not sub him but get out from under him, lock down may keep you flattened out. Big guys hate butterfly guard people because the sweeps get them off balanced.
    Just a personal perspective tho.

Terms of jiu claw finishes on bigger guys I have had a huge amount of success with the twist-o-plata since big guys in my jiu claw always power up and end up reaching behind themselves and just giving it to me. The submission I hit the most has to be teepee or gogo off an armbar attempt where the guy is just neutralizing it.

Had to look up what a twist-o-plata is, don't think that was in Mastering the Rubber guard. Pretty damn cool though!
I need to work on my butterfly guard, I can see how that would work really well against big guys. Keep the suggestions coming guys!

I'm a little fella too; 5'8 155, and when i roll with bigger dudes 6ft, 200+, i try to snatch up sneaky guillotines. Pull full guard and fake a hip bump sweep, if you can get the sweep, go for it; but if not, after you sit up and he stuffs the sweep, wrap the arm around his head on the way down and pull him in to a no-arm guillotine.

It's pretty high percentage for me as they tend to leave their neck exposed when the post to stop the sweep.

Butterfly sweeps all day. Dont even think about armbars or triangles. It took me awhile to realize that lol. Other than that any choke from top should work for you

You should really try to muscle them into positions of dominance like mount.

But really, arm drag from butterfly to the back, or drag into x-guard and work into some leg locks.
