Close friend just came up on one year of remission. She caught it in stage 3. She used arsenic therapy and chemo.

Leukemia is highly treatable. Stay positive

Hi Jolanda, I had to respond to this - so sorry to hear your news - my younger brother went through this a few years back - he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and hadnt been feeling well for soem time - mostly back problems as this is where the bone marrow was working overtime to produce the extra cells to fight the blood cancer. The doctors prepared us for the worst as the results from his initial blood test were as bad as they had every seen them but by the grace of God his chemotherapy got him back in the clear - he did everything he could to fight this horrible fucking disease in that he remained positive - as much as he could throughout, and when the last thing he felt like doing was eating during his treatment he made sure he finished every meal without fail to remain strong and give himself every chance. Since getting himself in remission he opted to have a bone marrow transplant as his original results were so bad there was a strong chance it would come back - and he was also quite young at the time - about 19. They found him a donor in Germany and the transplant was a complete success. Since then he has ran a half marathon with me and is dong his second London Marathon in a few months. He has travelled the world and is in perfect health. You can do this man! Stay strong, bnelieve, keep yourself as healthy as possible throughout and you will be back hitting twisters on fools before you know it. My bro also takes the time to speak to other people who are going through what he did to help keep them positive and advise then on what to expect as it will all be so new. I have spoken to him just now and he is happy to speak with you if you feel it may help.

    Jolanda,

Im sorry to hear that, hopefully you have family, friends and God to lean on during this time. I had a spot of skin cancer removed about 5 years ago but I didnt have to do radiation or anything like that. It was the bad kind (malignant) but they caught it early enough and now I have this cool 4 inch scar on my shoulder . I know a lot of people that have & had various kinds of cancer, so you are not alone in this. I pray that you have good doctors and that the treatment will not affect you too badly and that you will be healed. Like others said you can get your body in a best case senario by eating healthy and keeping as active as you are able even if it is just short walks and staying positive.

That's horrible news. I don't know what I would do if I was diagnosed with something life threatening. It would open your eyes in the important things in life for sure.
