    NAGA Nashville Competition Videos

Here are the videos of my two matches I had. I ended up placing third. The first guy I fought went on to win with ease. He caught me in a very nice heel hook. Second match was against a wrestler. I had several sub attempts and a few deep arm bars, but he didn't want to tap. Tough guy. He was rape choking me the whole match, which really threw me off my game and wore me out. Any advice or tips are welcome. It was a great event, and I found lots of areas that I need to work on.

Congrats to all of Brandon Mccaghren's guys. They racked up tons of medals. Very talented group with an awesome instructor. I can't wait to visit 10th planet Decatur next weekend.

If you don’t mind me asking, which experience level was this? Possible sand-bagging wrestler on second match. But I guess you can’t complain because you threw him.

On the first match, only do a standing pass with your back straight and hips forward. When you lean forward like that, you make the sweep easier and even put yourself at risk for arm bars ext.

On leg locks, I prefer to hide my feet and control his free leg (See Couch Herzogs video on “The Wedge”.

On the triangle attempt, focus on posture control and the angle . I prefer to grab my shin and his non-latch side leg. Even if you greatly prefer the triangle-armbar (looks like you do?) focus on posture control and angle.

    Excellent job man!!!!

Constantly on the attack, Michael. Good work.

The first time you and I get together our objective is to get you fixed up with a killer triangle!

Thanks for the advice guys. It was in the beginners division (6 months - 2 years). It is true I really don't like triangles, since I have short, thick legs and that ankle I was locking in, is hurt. So, I usually just transition to an armbar or omoplata. Lots of areas to work on and man my throat is so sore from all the rape choking the second guy did on me, I can hardly swallow.
