Anyone with experience using Dolce diet book weight cutting method for competition?

Since we cant all hire Mike Dolce to live with us before a fight. I'm wondering what kind of results can be gotten from using the books info alone to cut weight before a grappling or fighting competition. Do you have to, or how long do you have to follow his diet methods to effectively use whatever weight cutting method he lists in his book? Wondering if its worth dropping the money to buy the book just for his weight cutting method.

Him talking about helping Sonnen 20 pounds in 24 hours. He seems to have gotten around the plan of taking yourself to the edge of death to cut weight.

15lbs. in 4 weeks and I was sort of half assing it to be honest 175 to 160 and I felt I could keep going. The horrible method to cutting weight felt way better and painless than the sauna. The Dolce Diet is legit if you stick to the recipes and get plenty of rest. But most grappling matches do weigh ins the same day, so I don't advise cutting more than 8-10 lbs. I try to stay around 155 a month before competition. The Dolce Diet is all about dietary discipline. I recommend it of you don't know the fundamentals of weight cutting. Hope this helped.

Isn't the Dolce diet similar or the same as The Paleo Diet? It's when you eat more Fruits, Vegetables, and drink a lot more water since a lot or people and fighters eat crap and energy drinks all the time

It's like the Paleo in terms of eating non-processed, GMO and preferably organic foods, also a lot of emphasis on gluten free. Basically any unnecessary chemicals that could slow down the body or drastically effect weight and energy levels.

I know how to diet and cut weight a couple different ways. I'm just curious about his method of no sauna or exercising to sweat more and not starving yourself for a competition weight cut. Not sure what method the book teaches. I've only seen the table of contents on a website saying something about a weight cut section.

--This is the part of a website I read. I was wondering if this method is covered in the book and if it relates to the diet plan--

That night Dolce took Pyle down to the hotel's hot tub and sat in it with him for about thirty minutes.

"And it wasn't like I was holding him in there," Dolce said. "We were just sitting there, talking, and in thirty minutes he lost eight pounds."

Then they went back up to the room – where Dolce had surreptitiously turned the heat up – had a small meal, and returned to the hot tub once more before bed, dropping another eight pounds in about a half-hour.

"What I liked about this cut was, I didn't have to exert any energy to do it," Pyle said, "That state of being tired and being depleted from having all that water taken out of you and then still trying to hit mitts or wrestle, you just can't put energy together into anything. What was cool about Mike's perspective was, you don't burn any more calories than you need. You just sit there and sweat, and that's exactly what we did."

The strange thing about the whole process, Dolce said, isn't that fighters are able to lose weight without expending energy. The part that really confuses him is that so many people at the top level of this sport are still doing it wrong, putting their health and their chances of success on fight night in jeopardy.

A hot tub doesn't put a state of panic like the extreme heat of a sauna does. He goes into elaborate detail about it in both his books.

You will never go wrong by getting Dolce's books and watching his youtube videos. I used to train with him at Team Quest way back in the day, guy is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to Diet, strength and performance.

I scanned through the book real quick on the Kindle, it's not that bad. Good recipes and some interesting ones from the MMA camp, but French toast is french toast, why call it East-Coast Toast when the only difference is cooking with coconut oil

    Code:
    East Coast Breakfast Toast
    (A, H, G, V)
    1 egg (or egg alternative)
    ¼ cup almond milk
    2 slices bread
    Coconut oil (as needed)
    1 dash cinnamon
Coat pan with coconut oil and place over low heat.
In bowl, beat eggs and milk together with fork.
Dip bread into egg mixture and soak through.
Put bread slices in pan and heat until lightly browned.
Be sure to flip them over to cook both sides.
Repeat until all bread slices have been browned.
Top each bread slice with cinnamon, fresh fruit or serve with Fresh Berry Syrup.
NOTE: If cooking for more than one person, just double the recipe as you see fit.

Everything in the book is Quality. Also the Grappler's guide to sports nutrition is a good book for cutting weight, and eating healthy.

Thanx for the infos guys. Nutritionist buddie at the gym has a kindle. It only costs 10 bucks on it. He seemed interested in what its got in it. First book i wouldnt mind owning electronically to save a couple bucks

Truthfully i dont like how i feel after water loss of any kind and dont like to cut more than a couple pounds, but eventually people start getting bigger and bigger using roids and/or blowing back up by getting a nurse or paramedic to hook them up to an iv after weighing in
