Just trying to get some straight and honest feedback from other 10th Planet moons on uniform policy, particularly the bigger moons with the bigger membership base.
At Elements MMA / 10th Planet Jiu jitsu Birmingham we currently have in excess of 100 members, doing jiu jitsu, Muay Thai and mma and a mixture of the three
Currently there is no uniform policy, members can wear whatever they like on the mat
My question is how do the moons with a similar number of members feel about switching to uniform policy where students must rep the brand in some way shape or form during training?
Does you school have uniform policy?
Do you see uniform policy as a positive, neutral or negative move, particularly from the perspective of a brand new student who is about to join?
What effect does it have to see the team all wearing team uniform on the mat rather than having one or two odd ones out wearing what they like, eg an old tee shirt they may have been wearing most of the day?
Does it seem pushy of the school to force adults to wear something they might not have previously chosen to train in? What affect might that have on a students decision whether or not to join? Does individualism have its place in the school or should it be a case of 'train with us, wear what we tell you'
If there was to be a switch at your school, from no uniform policy to uniform policy overnight, how much choice would you expect to have in terms of options on colours and design, long or short sleeve etc for you to feel comfortable being made to wear uniform?
How would you feel about being told you could no longer wear your favourite non 10th planet branded rash guard?
If you prefer not to be told what to wear, would it soften the blow if your uniform was given to you, free of charge, every six months?
Appreciate all the feedback, and try to include the size of the school when replying as this is important to me - a school with less than 30 members can probably stand to be more loose on uniform than a school with 500 members for example. Thanks
