Dana White just announced via Twitter that Mark Munoz, who was scheduled to fight Chael Sonnen for the no.1 contender, has been injured and forced to pull out of the bout. Sonnen will now fight British middleweight Michael Bisping instead, with the winner earning a fight against middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The bout will serve as a co-main event for the UFC on FOX event, January 28th.
Bisping was scheduled to compete on the same card against former title challenger Demian Maia. It is unclear at this time if Maia will receive a replacement opponent.
Champion Anderson Silva is expected to be healthy soon, and a June event in Brazil is rumored to be where the winner of Sonnen/Bisping will face the Champion.
