The leg lock escapes are a good practice
but you guys are totally falling to the wrong direction on the leg locks
to begin with. Many people teach to fall to the outside for some
reason. Mostly I suspect it’s because of the reaping rule in IBJJF. (though turning inside you can do without reaping).
But it’s the least effective way to do it and allows for the most
escapes. The whole reason they are sitting up and getting into mount
in the drill is because of this.
Turning inside prevent the use
of your opponents other leg to spin out or push off and run out or mount
etc… Increases leverage also.
