Ben is a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu brown belt who started in the system as a white belt and worked his way through every level. After 16 years living in the UK- training, competing across the UK and Europe and learning from some of the best coaches in the game- he’s returned home to South Africa to bring that experience and energy to Cape Town.
Training in the 10th Planet system completely changed the way he sees jiu jitsu. The creativity, problem-solving and unique positions opened up a whole new world on the mats. Now the goal is to share that same experience with the local grappling community, bringing the 10th Planet style to Cape Town.
Located right on the Blouberg beachfront, 10th Planet Cape Town is currently the only 10th Planet academy in Africa and part of the worldwide 10th Planet network. The academy is all about good training, good vibes and a crew of people who enjoy the process of getting better together. Classes are technical, structured and designed to help people actually improve , whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or already experienced. Expect hard rounds, plenty of laughs and a room full of people pushing each other to level up.
